What should you do after you recorded the dance?
At first we ask you to upload two uncut videos as soon as it is possible, because this time you don’t have to do any complicated post-production. (This is a change from previous requirements.)
Recording parameters:
1. Wide shot: one, which is wide, where we can see the whole group and the location, too
2. Close shot: one which has close pictures about you
If you can record only one shot, it should be definitely a wide one. Although, if you have one camera, you can dance twice and once you shoot a wide and then a close shot.
1. Examples of Wide shots:
2. Examples of Close shots:
If you have more recording (you recorded the dance several times, or you have more cameras) you can upload an edited video, but please follow these parameters:
1. Wide cut video: it is cut smoothly for the music, it has minimum 10 sec long total shots (from different point of views). The shots can be longer but not shorter.
2. Close cut video: it is cut smoothly for the music, it has minimum 5 sec long close shots (from different point of views). The shots can be longer but not shorter.
Even if you upload an uncut recording or a cut one, please do not use effects! After you uploaded these videos, we will create a global dance video from it.
After that, as a second step you should edit your own video and when you are ready (within two weeks) you should upload it. This is your video, you can work on it freely, you can use effects etc.
Important: We ask you not to upload the edited or unedited videos to YouTube or other portals, even if you want to make it accessible for a limited audience only.
BUT! Make a lot of photos and upload them to UptoFaith.com!
Don't forget to take a group photo!
After publishing of the global video, all local videos will be made available, as well.
Why are we asking you not to upload videos after the dance? In order to achieve the highest impact possible by publishing the edited video.
Update:
Some additional tips:
- You can, and you should dance and record multiple times! We do this in Budapest too.
The team will be better for the second or third time and If you only have one camera this way you can make multiple recordings.
- Try to record from a higher viewpoint this way everybody will be in the shot, even at the last row too. Not to mention your beautiful city!
- Make some wide shots where we can see the view of the city in the background.
- It's great if you can incorporate a flag of your country into the dance. We will do this too.
- At the freestyle part really be free! Show your culture and team! (For example you can you
Video parameters:
If the video is not cut and its size is smaller than 2.5 GB then you should upload the original recording in its original format.
If you want to send a bigger material please upload it after conversion:
We’ve marked the most prefered format with a green color.
How can you upload the video via Internet:
1. First you should check your Internet connection whether it is fast enough to upload large files. Here you can test your bandwidth: http://speedtest.net
2. The speedtest will tell you your upload speed. Use the following calculator to determin the prospective upload time.
http://www.virtualtechltd.co.uk/virtualtech/index.php?show=itpl
Please note that the actual upload time or speed may vary.
If you have lower upload speed than 500 kbps you should search for a better Internet connection (if it’s possible) because in this case the upload will take more than 12 hours.
For uploading your video, you will need a program which is able to create an FTP connection (For example: Total Commander, Far Manager on PC, CyberDuck and Fetch on MAC)
We will send you the necessary information about the direct access and the deadlines later.
If you have any questions about the above information, do not hesitate to ask. If you are not sure about the formats of your editor program we will try to help you.
Hello, In a few weeks there will be more details about future projects. Stay tuned. :)
