Frank Balogh Jr. was born into a family of musicians. His father was the singer of a famous band during the ’80s, and his grandfather was a musician as well. After his parents divorced his life started to spiral downwards. During primary school he studied music, but, due to his misbehavior and poor performance, was not able to finish his music studies. As a teenager he suffered from depression which was compounded by the lack of a father figure; his pessimism fed his interest in darker and more lethargic bands. Frank’s father, whose life also sank deeper and deeper, unexpectedly repented at the Faith Church, and testified to Frank, his rebellious son, about the deliverance of Jesus Christ. Frank took his father’s new faith with a grain of salt, especially when he saw that his father’s massive collection of sci-fi books landed in a second-hand bookshop only to be replaced by the Bible and other similar books and magazines.
However,
a few years later, he also met Jesus Christ and his life radically
changed. Depression was replaced by a never before felt,
supernatural, hope and love which transformed this rebellious boy
into a God-fearing young man. Many of those around him also noticed
the change within him; he spoke with many of his old friends and
classmates about his newfound faith and his experience with the
Holy Spirit. God has since granted him a wife, and today he is the
happy father of two beautiful children.
When, as a young man, he started to attend the Faith Church, his musical talents soon became evident. As a teenager, he was selected to participate in the music ministry as a vocalist-pianist. This was when Tamás Pajor, musician and evangelist, noticed Frank. Tamás took him under his wings, and invited him to join his band, the popular ‘AMEN’, where Frank could develop; he had the chance to perform as a dancer, keyboardist, or at times, a rapper and would become a good friend of the band leader.
His first rap-band called HIT-HOP grew out this relationship and common ministry. Then, several years later, the band, ELECTRONIC GOSPEL, was formed which addresses the youth of the nation in the eclectic language of rock music.
About
the band:
Electronic Gospel, as its name implies, mixes the gospel style with that of modern music. The background projections, made by the band members themselves, are a chief constituent of their performances; through these they elaborate on the messages within their music, which were born in the spirit of their experience with God and the need for sharing it with others.
The band’s most outstanding work so far is the concert published on CD and DVD, produced in Pécs in 2008.
Current events, catastrophes, moral and spiritual corruption are indications that the prophecies written of in the Bible thousands of years ago, will soon be fulfilled, bringing into existence a new world beyond our imagination. Through music, they would like to spread the message of this new world to as many people as possible, while the hearts of the people are available and the heavenly gates are still open…
Their work together with Tamas Pajor (Tompage) continues. Frank contributed to Tamas’ latest albums (Your Vintage, Jesus Christ Superhighway) as an orchestrator and vocalist. He also had the chance to take part in producing remix versions of Tamas’ older and newer songs. Frank composed the music to the song titled ’Like It Was Before’ which was performed during Ellie Wiesel’s visit to Hungary. Furthermore, his work includes the opening music of the TV program called Happy Sunday. In addition, they coproduced the song titled ’Resurrection Sunday’ which has enjoyed international success due to YouTube.
